A girl that plays the role of the leader of the Mekakushi Dan. She’s essentially good-natured, but struggles to keep the individual members, like Kano and Seto, in line. Using her “eye concealing” ability, she can erase the perception towards objects within a certain distance of herself or her surroundings. She is most always seen listening to music through her earphones (Kagerou Project Wikia).
Her favourite artists are _asis, RADI_HEAD, and Toku_Shuugo. She's from the same orphanage as Kano and Seto.

She was born into a wealthy family, but wasn't the proper wife of the 'Kido' family, so she doesn't have much of a position in her family. As she was treated badly, she wished to disappear.
Her father's company went bankrupt, which then caused the violence behaviour of her father. He also set the house on fire, killing everyone (August 15, 10 years ago).
At that time, Kido reached 'Kagerou Daze' with her elder sister, and got the 'Eye Concealing' ability.

Ability: Eye Stealing　「目を盗む」

A young man who belongs to the Mekakushi Dan and is from the same orphanage as Kido and Kano. He works as a florist at theshopping center as well as various other fields of work such as traffic control and newspaper delivery. He is also the person that invited Mary into the Mekakushi Dan. With his “eye-stealing” ability, he can read information from any target. However, he dislikes it because, “it’s a power where you steal with glances, without needing communication,” so he rarely uses it. He has a pet hamster named “Hanao.” He also has a habit of wandering around where he shouldn't be (Kagerou Project Wikia).
He's from the same orphanage as Kano and Kido.
Mekakushi Dan member No.2.

He lost his parents since young and was often bullied due to his weak and cowardly personality. His only friend was a stray dog. Because of this, he wished that he can understand the feelings/thoughts without using language.

During a storm one day (August 15, 10 years ago), he witnessed some children drowning the stray dog, his only friend. He also jumped into the river in attempt to save the dog.
He entered 'Kagerou Daze' during that time, and obtained the 'Eye Stealing' ability.

Kano Shuuya　カノ　【鹿野 修哉】

A young man with cat-like eyes who belongs to the Mekakushi Dan. Has an unfocused, aloof personality, and always has a smile on his face. Because he teases Mary and Momo a lot, he’s often considered to be a flirt and uncaring, but when it counts, he’s worth relying on. He possesses the power to “deceive one’s eyes,” to be able to manipulate what people around him see and show them something different.
He's from the same orphanage as Kido and Seto.

Kano's past:

He spent his childhood with his mother (with some sort of emotionally problems) in their apartment and was always beaten by his mother. While other people described it as 'his mother being violent on Kano', Kano thought of it as 'his fault for making his mother angry'. As a result, he wished to deceive people into thinking he doesn't have any bruises, so people won't think that his mother was beating him.

One day (August 15, 10 years ago), some thieves robbed their house, killing Kano and his mother on the way. He entered 'Kagerou Daze' and got the 'Eye Deceiving' ability.

Kozakura Mary　マリー　【小桜 茉莉】

Ability: Making Eye Contact　「目を合わせる」

A 1/4-Medusa, 3/4-human girl. Her parents told her “We’re medusae, so if we make eye contact with a human they’ll be turned to stone.” While growing up, she always stuck to their words and hid herself away from the world in the forest. Even after they died she continued to live alone. By chance, a boy named Seto visited the forest and found her. He has since brought her to the outside world. After coming to the Mekakushi Dan’s hideout, and joining the group, she leads a sideline life making fake flowers in her room which generates a very small income. When she went into town to buy ingredients, the first people she met were neighborhood children. They bullied her, and she was traumatized by the incident, so she rarely goes outside anymore. Her ability is to “make eye contact”, which allows her to temporarily stop the movement of whoever meets her gaze (Kagerou Project Wikia).

Interesting Facts:
- She's clumsy
- She's actually a fujoshi, so she will be a Hikijoshi (Hikikomori + fujoshi)
- The bandage that she had on her arm in the Souzou Forest PV is used for covering her eyes
- Since she is also a medusa, her lifespan and growth is very slow compared to a human, so she is around 140 years old in Souzou Forest
- Her hair wriggles when she's happy or excited

*Note: Souzou Forest and Kuusou Forest is the same song. When Jin-san first uploaded it on NND, the name was Souzou Forest; In the album, the name was changed to Kuusou Forest. The PVs are a little bit different, so yeah.

She and her mother both died on the day when some humans came to the forest (August 15). She entered the 'Kagerou Daze' with Shion and received the true medusa power from Azami (or Shion, not sure about this part yet). So Mary actually has the 'Making Eye Contact' ability and the true medusa power.

Due to her meeting with Mekakushi Dan and the evil plan of the 'snake of eye clearing', she 'Kagerou-Daze-ized' the current world.

Kisaragi Momo　モモ　【如月 桃】

A very popular idol in her first year of high school. Ever since a childhood marine accident at the beach with her father, she has the “eye-captivating” power that can draw peoples’ attention regardless of their preferences in tastes or interests. Because of her power she was often alienated from people and had no friends, but since her meeting with the Mekakushi Dan, she regains her original, bright character. She has a peculiar sense in taste and fashion, and as such, it is common for her opinions to disagree with other peoples' (Kagerou Project Wikia).

A strange program taking the shape of a young girl which has taken up residence inside Shintaro's computer. She calls him "Master", and yet adores bothering him. First appeared in Artifical Enemy. A naive cyber girl who lives in Shintaro’s computer. She can possibly invade anything that uses electricity and gives her all in doing things that Shintaro hates. Was once a human, but lost her body in a certain experiment. She now possesses the power of immortality from her “opening eyes” ability (MAL)

Ene when she was a human. She was listening to the radio one day when a certain country's president announced that they world is ending.

Novel volume 2 spoiler:

She is obsessed with an online game called [DEAD BULLET -1989-] and came 2nd in the national ranking. Her name in the game is "The Shining Dancer - Ene" (閃光の舞姫・エネ). She has a disorder which causes her to lose consciousness for no reason at random times and doesn't remember anything that happens before she loses consciousness.

Kisaragi Shintaro　シンタロー　【如月 伸太郎】

A hikikomori (recluse/shut-in) and NEET (Not in Education, Employment or Training) young man with an IQ of 168. In middle school and high school, he performed at the top of his class in National Mock Examinations, but due to the suicide of a close friend (Ayano), he dropped out of his first year of high school. Subsequently, a mysterious software enters into his computer named “Ene,” and, being unable to control her actions, his lifestyle is at a loss. Due to one of Ene’s pranks, his computer breaks down, so both Ene and him go to the department store for shopping where they happen upon a group of terrorists. They end up stopping them together with the Mekakushi Dan. After this, he and Ene come to join the Mekakushi Dan. He is Momo’s brother (Kagerou Project Wikia).
His favourite manga is Kamikaze Kaitou Jeanne. (LOL unexpected much?)

A boy that visits the city with Hiyori. He is known to be very mature for his age, yet has a cheeky personality. His quarrels with Momo are endless. On August 15, he becomes involved in a certain incident with Hiyori, but is the only one saved, and obtains the “eye focusing” ability under these circumstances (Kagerou Project Wikia). His ability seems to allow him to see things related to the target (long distances).

He has a crush on Hiyori, the popular girl of the school, and refers himself as a Pro-ASAHINA (Asahina Hiyori's fans), basically a stalker.

In his spare time, he plays baseball with the neighborhood children. He is known to possess a strong curiosity for the unknown. There appears to be another side to him called 'Dark Konoha', as shown in Children Record (Kagerou Project Wikia).

A hard-working, innocent, my-pace young man who is good at drawing. He has a sickly body since birth, and often visits the hospital. Even though he has good academics results, he is not able to attend school normally. Therefore, he wished to have an ideal body
Takane's classmate. He has a beauty mole under his right eye<3. He eats a lot (like, seriously a lot) but doesn't get fat. The nickname 'Konoha' was made by himself because he wanted to have a cool nickname like Takane (Ene).

Asahina Hiyori　ヒヨリ　【朝比奈 日和】

A girl that visits the city with Hibiya. For this reason, she came to stay at her sister’s house, and fell in love with Konoha at first sight, who happened to be staying there as well. On August 15, she becomes involved in a certain incident with Hibiya. Her favorite animal is a cat.

In Konoha no Sekai Jijou's PV, there was a newspaper with the title "A 11 year-old girl died", so it was believed that Hiyori is 11 years old.

She is the younger sister of Asahina Ayaka, who is now called Tateyama Ayaka after her marriage with Kenjiro. (meaning Hiyori = Ayano's aunt)
Hiyori is quite selfish in a way, and she forcefully took Hibiya with her to the city. She's popular within the class, but she never cared about it.
She was dragged into the 'Kagerou Daze' with Hibiya due to an accident. Details unknown.

Kozakura Shion　シオン　【小桜 紫苑】

Ability:

She's 1/2-Medusa and 1/2-Human. Mary's mother. They were living in the forest peacefully until they were attacked by some humans. In order to protect Mary, she used her power and turned the humans into rocks. However, her body cannot take the burden and she died as a result.

Shion's past:

Shion lived with her father, Tsukihiko, waiting for Azami, who disappeared into Kagerou Daze. She continued to live in the forest after Tsukihiko died, and met a human not long after (which then became her husband, aka Mary's father).
She was worried that Mary will be hated and bullied due to her Medusa blood, so she prevented Mary from leaving the forest.
When she died, she was dragged into the 'Kagerou Daze' with Mary, reuniting with her mother, Azami. She gave the snake with her eye ability to Mary, and sent her back to the real world.

Shion's mother and Mary's grandmother. As a medusa, her hair are formed from a number of snakes, each having a "Eye coiling" (?) ability. She is immortal and thinks of human as fragile, boring organisms that easily dies. But while everyone was afraid of her, she fell in love with a young soldier, who was the first human to like her, and created a family with him. In order to live with her family forever, she used her Medusa power to create a never-ending world (Infinity loop of August 14 and 15).

Tateyama Kenjiro　ケンジロー　【楯山 研次朗】

A high school biology teacher, Momo’s homeroom teacher, and also Ayano's father. Provides both stern and kind guidance to Momo, who can’t come to school often due to idol activites. Even though he has lost his family in the past, he still continues to do his best in educating students. Possesses the power of “making eyes clear" (Kagerou Project Wikia).

Enomoto Takane's and Kokonose Haruka's teacher. He tries to ignore anything that is troublesome, but fails whenever Takane threatens him with "Chairman (of the school)". During the cultural festival, he used the club budget to buy a specimen of a rare (?) fish. Takane described him as "THE human trash".

After his experiment on Takane and Haruka, he mentioned that he has obtained the 'key' to the next [Kagerou Daze].

Kenjiro's past:

He was a slack and lazy person when he was young because he hated troubles. But he attended University under his parent's persuasion, and fell in love at first sight with his classmate, Ayaka. However, he was rejected because she's not interested in 'slack guys', which then became his reason to study hard.
Eventually, he married Ayaka and became a teacher. He is a nice father who loved Ayano, Kido, Kano and Seto.
But he died in an accident with Ayaka while searching for a way to released Kido, Kano and Seto from their ability. He was dragged into 'Kagerou Daze' during that time, and gave Azami a plan for Kagerou Daze, and then obtained the Eye Clearing power.

Tateyama Ayano　アヤノ　【楯山 文乃】

A cheerful, ordinary girl who was Shintaro's classmate. In the summer of her first year of high school, she made contact with Shintaro, who had a tendency to keep a distance, but who soon relented to her advances and genuinely enjoyed her company. From then on the two became close friends. Shintaro catches her crying one day, but is at a lost at what to do and leaves. The next day it is revealed that she had committed suicide for some unknown reason (Kagerou Project Wikia). She is the daughter of Kenjiro. In contrast to Shintaro, she isn't good at academics and often has to take make-up courses.

Ayano's past:

She was asked by her mother to take care of her adopted siblings: Kano, Kido and Seto, and she was also the one who founded Mekakushi Dan.

She wished for her family's happiness more than anyone. In order to prevent her family from falling apart (due to her mother's death), she suicided on August 15 in order to be involved with 'Kagerou Daze'. Obtained eye ability. Details unknown.

Tateyama Ayaka

She was interested in 'Medusa' since young, and decided to become an archaeologist during University. She married Kenjiro, who was her classmate at that time, and gave birth to Ayano.
She received a request from a friend who worked in an orphanage, and adopted Kido, Kano and Seto.
Ayaka was a cheerful, gentle person who loved her family. But she is scary when she's angry.
She was researching a way to release Kano, Kido, and Seto from their ability along with Kenjiro, but died in a landslide (with Kenjiro), which is when they came into contact with 'Kagerou Daze'.
